The Geelong Regional Engineers Group (GREG) has been honoured to host this year’s Engineers Weekend.

Engineers Weekends are held by various Regional Engineering groups annually, with each regional group taking turns in hosting this event, at their regional centre. The program runs from Friday evening to Sunday afternoon, with the highlight on Saturday evening being a semi-formal dinner with presentations from guest speakers. Engineers Weekends provide engineers the opportunity to connect with other regional engineers for fellowship, networking and continued professional development.

The year’s weekend is open to all GREG members, Engineers Weekend Past Regular attendees, IPWEA members and their spouse/partners. The weekend is also open to current and past practicing engineers, practitioners associated with the engineering profession and non-members.

The weekend consist of several events throughout the weekend starting Friday evening 9th Oct 2026 through to Sunday Lunch on the 11th October 2026. You can choose to attend one, or several, or all of the events throughout the weekend. Just select the event that you wish to attend and the number of tickets required.

For those coming to Geelong and staying either one or two nights, discounted accommodation has been negotiated and can be booked directly with Eden Oak, quoting that you are attending the Engineers Weekend.

Eden Oak is a contemporary accommodation venue located at 20 Adams Ct, East Geelong Vic 3219, located in Geelong’s Eastern Park right next door to the East Geelong Golf Club. The Geelong Botanical Gardens are also located in Eastern Park adjacent to the East Geelong Golf Club.

•	Meet and Greet “Icebreaker” at; Sailor's Rest, 3 Moorabool St, Geelong

Saturday 10th October 2026 – 10:15am (Pay as you go)

•	Tour of; National Wool Museum, 26 Moorabool St, Geelong (tour approx. 1 hour)

Saturday 10th October 2026 – 11:45am (Pay as you go)

•	Lunch at; Wharf Shed, Geelong Waterfront, Eastern Beach Road.

Saturday 10th October 2026 – 1:30pm ($20 per person, limited places available)

•	Energy of Geelong Bus Excursion:
    o	Pickup by a Hydrogen powered bus and taken to the Viva Energy H2 Refuelling Hub.
    o	A brief look at the H2 powered bus, then
    o	A tour of the H2 hub and the H2 production process.
    o	A bus tour around the public roads outside the Viva Energy Refinery (ex-Shell Refinery) perimeter
        with commentary provided by Viva Energy personnel.
    o	Return to the Geelong Waterfront pickup point, enroute passing the Spirit of Tasmania ferry Terminal for a quick look.

Saturday 10th October 2026 – 6:30pm (Members $80, Student $60, Non-members $110)

•	Evening presentation and dinner with guest speakers. Inclusive of welcome drink, pre-dinner platters and 2 course dinner.

Sunday 11th October 2026 – 10:15am ($10 per person)

•	Guided tour of the historic Fyansford Mill, 100 Lower Paper Mills Rd, Fyansford.

Sunday 11th October 2026 – 11:30am (Pay as you go)

•	Providence Winery for tasting and purchase. 100 Lower Paper Mills Rd, Fyansford.

Sunday 11th October 2026 – 12:30pm (Pay as you go)

•	Lunch at the Fyansford Hotel, 67 Hyland St, Fyansford, and closing address for weekend event.

For weekenders staying on in GEELONG, Saturday morning early arrivals, or for Sunday afternoon, possible activities maybe:

•	Check out the Botanical Gardens and the Waterfront and foreshore
•	Play a round of golf at the East Geelong Golf Course
•	Visit the Geelong Library at Johnstone Park with its unique building design, “The Dome”. 
    There is a heritage reading room on level 3 housing historic archives of Geelong, local and family history and other history reference collection.
•	The Geelong Art Gallery, next door to the Geelong Library.
