Building Management Systems – automation and control

The talk will outline some of the energy saving initiative currently being employed to manage energy usage, minimise waste and enhance the working environment. It will look at the systems provided for some of Victoria’s landmark projects, these include the following, to name a few:
- The Ian Potter Southbank Centre, The University of Melbourne (Musical)
- Flinders Gate, Melbourne Office Building
- Bendigo Hub, Regional Council Building
Controltech is a privately held Australian company, that was established in 2011; It is comprised of more than 50 employees across Engineering, Service, Installation, Sales and Administration departments.
Ben Carroll - Business Development Manager
Ben Carroll has had a successful career in the BMS (Building Management Systems) controls industry. Starting as a service technician, he has accumulated 16 years of experience and has transitioned into a role as a project manager. His career progression showcases his expertise and leadership in managing and overseeing projects related to BMS controls.
Currently, Ben Carroll holds the position of Controltech Business Development Manager, he is responsible for driving the growth and expansion of Controltech business in the BMS controls sector. As a Business Development Manager, his role involves identifying new opportunities, establishing strategic partnerships, managing client relationships, and developing strategies to enhance the company’s market presence and revenue.
Darren Ehlert - Engineering Services Manager
Darren Ehlert’s career is over 12 years in the BMS (Building Management Systems) controls industry starting as a project manager, his career trajectory has been shaped by his technical expertise in BMS software.
Currently serving as the Controltech Engineering Services Manager, Darren’s role involves overseeing and managing the engineering services related to BMS controls. This encompasses designing and implementing BMS solutions, troubleshooting technical issues, navigating the challenges and demands of providing high-quality engineering services and technical guidance to the team, to ensuring the smooth functioning of the engineering department.
